Synthesizing an Acoustic Filter by a Residual Extraction Technique
Using Python w/ADSModern high frequency circuit simulation is complex and dealing with generated data can be challenging. In this is a video clip, Matt Ozalas talks about how to compute circuit and model values prior to running a simulation. He shows us an example of how to synthesize an acoustic filter by using a residual extraction technique.
View additional examples that demonstrate the power and flexibility of linking Python and ADS.

Tutorials in Signal Integrity Webcast Series:
Thermal Effects On Your PCB
SI WebcastTypically signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) engineers set or assume the temperature for analysis at room temperature. However, the temperature may be higher than that, depending on the DUT location on PCB. What thermal effects for SI and PI do we anticipate if the PCB temperature is high? In this webcast, we will review the thermal effects on your PCB designs and demonstrate the performance changes due to the temperature change based on a practical case study. Register for SI / PI webcast now.

Tim’s Blackboard: Unintentional Visit to Frequency Domain
Frequency DomainMuch like Sir William Henry Bragg stated, often, the recipe for new discovery entails new light, so elements can be viewed in a fresh perspective. This month, Tim discusses the motivation for Fourier to introduce his series, follow by his unintentionally visit to the frequency domain, and end with how the new frequency domain view helps us understand the root cause of eye closure.  Visit Tim's Blackboard to learn more.

Using a Python VISA API Within IC-CAP for Instrument Control
Python & IC-CAPHave you ever found yourself in a situation where the characterization software did not support the hardware you were trying to use? Complex measurement conditions may require that your next data point depend on a previous measurement result. Integrating Python with IC-CAP leads to a powerful and flexible solution that is supported by an open community. Learn how the use of a "PyVISAWrapper" can simplify your test suite development.

Case Study: Creating a PDSOI PN Junction Model
Extract PDSOI Model ParametersSilicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology is rapidly becoming mainstream due to its lower power, higher speed and higher packing density. The shallow PN junction is used in partially-depleted silicon-on-insulator (PDSOI) technology to resolve the response problem that occurs during total-dose radiation. Researchers from the Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECAS) have proposed a new simulation model for the PN junction based on SOI. Learn how MBP was used to extract the model parameters.

Understanding the 5G NR Physical Layer
5G NR WebcastNew Radio (NR) is the 3GPP effort for defining and standardizing a new Radio Access Technology (RAT) for 5G. NR is a long-term effort covering a wide set of use cases (eMBB, URLLC, and mMTC) and introducing some new cutting-edge technologies like millimeter-wave and beamforming. In this webinar, we cover all aspects of the NR physical layer with a special focus on some key aspects like MIMO, beamforming, initial access and different numerologies. Watch 5G webcast now.

Mindbender
Five digits, I have five digits in all
The sum of my whole is nineteen
Two digits are alike in every way
Yet two other digits are in between
I'm number twenty-five in a famous succession
The middle number has no value to size
The first two digits and the last two digits
Are both very much divisible by five

What number am I?
